FOSS for health among the themes at Southeast Asian conference of experts

Open source in health care has been identified as one of the nine themes that will be tackled by some 200 alumni of the InWEnt Capacity Building International (Germany) during the "1st Interdisciplinary Alumni Conference Southeast Asia".

To be held in Hanoi, Vietnam on June 30-July 3, 2010, the event aims to enhance collaboration among experts amidst the challenges of integration in the Southeast Asian region. High representatives from public and private sector will grace the affair by discussing the role of the ASEAN in coping with this integration.

Aside from open source in health care, the other themes that will be addressed are "fair competition", ASEAN agenda in the media, HIV/AIDS, e-learning, regional economic development vis-a-vis corporate social responsibility, innovation, rural development management, and integrated coastal management.

At least three members from the PANACeA community, who also happen to be alumni of InWEnt, will participate in the event.
