MyPACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System)
MyPACS.net is a free service offered to the international radiology community by McKesson Medical Imaging Group as a result of the McKesson acquisition of Vivalog LLC in May 2008. Our continued mission is to help clinicians share knowledge through the use of content management technology. This service was funded in part by a Small Business Innovative Research grant from the National Institute of Mental Health. We also offer Premium Teaching File Solutions.
Technology -- MyPACS is built on top of the MyPACS Knowledge Management Framework, a highly scalable, efficient platform for building web-based multimedia clinical applications. The framework enables us to easily extend and customize MyPACS for different institutional requirements.
The MyPACS Server runs on a Linux platform, in conjunction with a standard web server. Imported images and multimedia are stored in a protected document repository, and case data is stored in MySQL, a high-speed relational database management system. As the application is purely web-based, no client software needs to be installed, other than a standard web browser.
